El ultimo día del festival empezó con un clímax, viendo una auténtica maravilla: I saw the devil. El director Kim Ji-Woon (Dos hermanas, The good, the bad, the weird), homenajeado en esta edición del festival, nos presentó su última obra; un thriller trepidante, grandioso, escalofriante,… toda una lección de cine. Una película de casi dos horas y media, nada aburrida, con momentos muy sangrientos, humor negrísimo e interpretaciones sobresalientes, sobre todo de Choi Min-Sik (Oldboy) como carismático psicópata. Una dirección perfecta para mostrarnos la acción claramente y llevarnos vertiginosamente hacia un triste y sádico final. Sin palabras ante una de las mejores películas del año.
La película de cierre de este año fue Mother’s Day de Darren Lynn Bousman. Flojo remake de una película de la Troma, con el gran acierto de tener de protagonista a Rebecca De Mornay (también homenajeada este año). Poco a destacar de esta cinta con muchas reminiscencias a la saga de Saw y unos cuantos efectismos.Finaliza el festival por este año. Ya anunciadas las premiadas, las analizaré a fondo en otro artículo.
El Festival de Sitges 2010 se puede resumir en tres hechos notables: muy poca ciencia ficción y terror, muchas cintas de asesinos psicópatas y dominio del cine oriental.

Pues por lo que cuentas, parece que el festival de Sitges estuvo fenomenal. Nunca olvidaré que fue ahí donde galardonaron "Patrick" de Richard Franklin, una de mis películas preferidas, con una de mis secuelas predilectas con todo y que no tenía la menor intención de serlo, "Patrick vive ancora" de Mario Landi." I Spit on Your Grave," pues nada, la original fue mucho mejor, nadie sabe lo que tiene hasta que es demasiado tarde, y por lo mismo se hacen muchas cochinadas basadas en ese tipo de películas últimamente (no te olvides, por ejemplo, de Last House on the Left). Debe ser interesante la última que reseñaste de Rebecca de Mornay y la de la llanta psíquica. Como quiera que sea el festival estuvo surtido. Mucho gusto saludarte.
